Over 2,300 years ago, Aristotle described courage as an interdependent virtue that deals with fear and confidence. Over 200 years later, Cicero emphasized courage as a cardinal virtues. In 1931, Winston Churchill wrote, "Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities, because, as has been said, it is the quality which guarantees all others." William H. McRaven, retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral, confirms this sentiment in the present.
